Hack Details for your ACOUSTIC SOLUTIONS DVD, Blu-Ray or HD DVD Player

ACOUSTIC SOLUTIONS DVD321, DVD421, DVD451, DVD651
1. Press the Open button on your remote control to open the drive tray.
2. Press the Setup button on your remote control.
3. Press the Next button on your remote control.
4. Press the Previous button on your remote control.
5. Press the Next button on your remote control.
6. Press the Previous button on your remote control.
7. A code should appear on the top left hand corner of the onscreen display.
8. Using the direction buttons on your remote control, change the code to VER 1 for region 1 playback, VER 2 for region 2, and so on, or VER 255 for multi-region playback.
9. You can also change the code to VER 3001 to enable parental controls, or VER 3000 to disable these controls.
10. You can also change the code to VER 4001 to enable Macrovision, or VER 4000 to disable this feature.
11. Press the Setup button on your remote control.
12. VER5000 plays VCD and VER5001 disables this feature.
You may need to use the up and down buttons to select the region option before you change it.

1. Using the remote control, key in the following: Setup, Next, Stop, Pause/Step, Prev, Next.
2. You should now be in a secret menu where you can change the region from 1 to 6, or All for region free.

Open the tray
Press the Setup button on the remote
Press Next, Prev, Next and Prev
Enter the region code set-up
Using the Left and Right buttons set Ver to 255 for region free or 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2 and so on
VCD Hack:

Repeat the above operation but instead of entering the region code set-up press the Down button three times
Using the Left and Right buttons set Ver to 5000 to play VCDs or SVCDs

You should now be in a service menu where you can set the region to 1-8, or Bypass for Region free. Note that Bypass will not play RCE discs.

Enter the region code set-up
You can now press Up and Down to go through several options
Each option has a range of numeric values access by pressing Left or Right. When you're finished, press Setup. Each option is shown with the prefix VER.
VER 1 = Region 1
VER 2 = Region 2
VER 3 = Region 3
VER 4 = Region 4
VER 5 = Region 5
VER 255 = Multi Region

VER 3001 = Parental Control Enable
VER 3000 = Parental Control Disable

VER 4001 = Macrovision Enable
VER 4000 = Macrovision Disable

VER 5001 = VCD and DVDR disable
VER 5000 = VCD and DVDR enable

2. Open the tray.
3. Key in 9735 on the remote.
4. A menu should appear, allowing you change the current region, as well as showing you the firmware
revision and other settings.
5. Set the region to region 0 for region free.

Consider using a UK based online rental company for your DVD's such as or who have a fabulous range of movies to rent with no late return fees and a free trial. Its much cheaper to do it this way than to wait for sky digital or buy region 2 or 1 films from the internet.
